Day 4 - Your Parents

I had to think if I really wanted to post this, but for my faithful readers (all 5 of you guys) I figured the beat must go on.

Day 4 of the blogging challenge is about your parents. Lela Fields and Craig Henderson I were lucky enough to have a wonderful, handsome, and talented son on December 12, 1985.

My Mother Lela is the biggest inspiration in my life! I watched her my whole life sacrifice so much so I could have a good child hood. She worked 2 jobs and sometimes 7 days a week just to make ends meet. She never complained about having to do it all by herself and for that strength she showed I am very grateful. I think God blessed me with the strongest mother a boy could have, she taught me how to be a man without my father really being around much. She kept me in sports because she knew that was my avenue to stay out of trouble and to one day make something of myself. Now that I am grown I'm sad because I know my mom will soon move back home to Tennessee and I won't be bale to see her but a few times a year but above all I want her to be happy and now that she sees I am doing well for myself I think she finally is.

My father is also an inspiration in my life. I've watched my father make every mistake a man could make in a life. My number 1 goal in life is to be NOTHING like my Father! My father and I are kind of close but its more like he is an older friend not really a dad. While I was growing up my father was heavy into drugs, I could share a million stories that would almost make you want to cry, but I will share only one. When I was in 4th grade the neighborhood drug dealer lived down the street from my Grandma and where my dad was staying, and his children always told me how my dad was there spending all his money on drugs (instead of on his 3 kids). This used to hurt me but I shook it off, but one day I was getting ready for school and I couldn't find my new shoes my mom just bought me (Ken Griffey Jr Shoes) come to find out he took them down the street and you guessed it sold them! So needless to say I was pissed and my mom was steaming mad! This is just one of the many instances I could draw on, but let me continue. When I got to high school I had a lot of trouble dealing with him and I wanted nothing to do with him or his new family (his wife is a whole different story). but after I prayed about it I decided I can't take my anger for him out on my little brothers and sister and it does say in the Bible honor thy mother and father.

So those are my parents! Hope u enjoyed reading this!!
